If a South African family cannot be found for these children, foreign adopters can be considered. Home studies need to be completed in your country of residence, and South Africa's requirements for your home study will be sent to you on request. We are able to assist adopters with referrals of children and legal and administrative requirements. You will need to travel to South Africa to finalize your adoption and collect your child. Your stay in South Africa will be around 2 weeks. We are currently working with adopters from Austria,Germany, and Denmark. Adopters from other countries wishing to adopt from South Africa would need to contact the South African Central Authority on +27 12 312-7593, to find out whether their home country has an adoption contract with South Africa.
